Why I started working out

If you’ve read some of the other posts, you know that I mentioned I work out three times a week. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. But I haven’t always worked out.
Since I graduated from high school, I don’t have PE classes anymore (obviously) and so I became more sedentary. By the end of last year, I started noticing that I would get tired very easily. Getting exhausted from walking from home to class is not normal for a 22-year-old.
This was not the only reason. There are somethings about my body that I don’t like that can easily disappear by working out. Like my little gut or my legs.
Since my boyfriend was always bugging me to work out with him, I decided to take advantage of that. I asked him to make me a workout plan that I could follow, I almost couldn’t.
When I tell people I have been exercising, their response is “Why? You’re not fat.” I know I’m not fat, I’m not doing it to lose weight. I’m doing this to feel good about myself, to build up my self-esteem. Because those little things that you don’t like about your body can affect your confidence in a bad way. I don’t understand why some people assume exercising is only to lose weight, isn’t getting healthier a good reason?
